Traveling with young kids isn’t always easy…
But it is worth it.
After years of traveling with our own families (and helping hundreds of clients do the same), we’ve learned that the best family vacations aren’t the ones where everything goes perfectly.
They’re the ones where you stay flexible, pack a little extra grace, and embrace the unexpected.
Here are 5 tips we come back to again and again when traveling with little ones:
✈️ Do your research before you book.
🧸 Pack more than you think you’ll need.
🤍 Leave room for flexibility.
🌊 Slow down and enjoy the little moments.
😂 Laugh when things don’t go according to plan.
One of our favorite parts of planning family vacations is helping you choose destinations, resorts, cruises, and itineraries that actually work for your family’s stage of life—not just what looks good on social media.
Now we want to hear from you…
👇 What’s the hardest part of traveling with young kids?
Airports? Hotels? Mealtimes? Sleep schedules? Something else?
Share it below—we might just turn your answer into our next travel tip.
The truth is, we’re not actively trying to build the biggest team.
The advisors who thrive at Bright Life tend to have a few things in common: they’re collaborative, professional, client-focused, and genuinely care about the success of the people around them.
Our team spans multiple states, but the culture is something we’re incredibly proud of. Questions get answered. Resources get shared. Wins get celebrated. No gatekeeping. No drama.
Just good people building great businesses together.
If you’ve been wondering whether there’s a different way to do this industry and you’re ready to level up and lean into your business, we’d love to start a conversation.
Planning a trip is so much more than clicking “Book Now.”
Behind every itinerary is a whole lot of research, collaboration, and problem-solving.
✨ Comparing resorts that actually fit your family.
✨ Sorting through room categories and fine print.
✨ Coordinating flights, transfers, excursions, and dining.
✨ Keeping up with supplier changes and promotions.
✨ Making sure every detail works together before you ever pack a suitcase.
From the outside, it might look like we’re just sitting around with our laptops.
In reality, we’re building vacations that are designed around your family, your priorities, and your budget.
That’s the difference between booking a trip…
and planning one.
We love getting to do the behind-the-scenes work so you can focus on looking forward to the fun. 💛
I was going through video last weekend to find content to post and came across this gem. Here’s what’s going on —
A few of our advisors were filming some content while another teammate was off getting new headshots.
As soon as they spotted her across the bridge, they stopped what they were doing and started cheering.
“YES GIRL!”
Clapping.
Laughing.
Celebrating her for no reason other than they were excited to see her.
Nobody planned it.
Nobody asked them to.
That’s just who they are.
Moments like this remind me that the best teams aren’t built through policies or team meetings.
They’re built when people genuinely want to see each other succeed.
I believe that’s one of the reasons our clients have the experience they do.
When one advisor learns something new, everyone benefits.
When someone discovers an incredible resort, they share it.
When someone needs help, there’s always another advisor willing to jump in.
We don’t compete with each other.
We cheer for each other.
And I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
Because at the end of the day, we’re not just building a travel agency.
We’re building a place where great people get to do great work together. 🤍
Research trips aren’t vacations.
They’re one of the ways we become better advisors.
On our recent trip to Mexico, our team toured around eight different resorts in just a few days. That meant walking room categories, testing the beaches, checking out the pools, eating at the restaurants, and paying attention to all the little details you won’t find on a resort website.
By the end of the trip, we weren’t saying, “This resort is the best.”
We were saying things like...
✔️ This is perfect for families with young kids.
✔️ We’d recommend this one for couples celebrating something special.
✔️ This is a great fit for multi-generational groups.
✔️ This one offers incredible value for the price.
That’s the difference.
The best resort isn’t the fanciest one. It’s the one that’s the best fit for your vacation.
We invest in visiting destinations firsthand so when you ask for a recommendation, it’s based on real experience, not just brochures and reviews.
Because finding the right fit is what turns a good vacation into a great one.
Interviewing our sweet @traveldesignbyerin to hear her biggest travel mistake.
If you know Erin, you know she’s so organized and has all the answers. It makes her an amazing travel advisor. It’s nice to know she’s also a human 😂🤪
Also, first interview so if you stay til the end you can hear @travelbykristinh fumble on the mic.
We don’t know that exactly 87% of memories from travel are food memories, but it seems pretty accurate to us.
Just girls who needed a night or two to be silly. 🥰😂
So lucky to have an agency full of friends who don’t take themselves too seriously.
Anyone want to see a part 2 with the Karen wigs? We may or may not have more footage.
A lot of people think travel advisors spend their days looking at resorts and sending pretty itineraries.
And yes... there are definitely some beautiful photos involved. 😏
But behind every trip is a lot of work most travelers never see.
We’re comparing resorts that all look amazing online but deliver very different experiences.
We’re tracking schedule changes before they become vacation problems.
We’re researching destinations, room categories, transportation, excursions, and all the little details that can make or break a trip.
We’re helping clients avoid the endless cycle of opening 37 browser tabs and somehow ending up more confused than when they started.
And when something does go wrong? We’re already working on a solution.
At Bright Life Travel, we don’t just book travel.
We help families, couples, groups, and busy professionals spend their vacation budget wisely, save countless hours of research, and feel confident about the decisions they’re making.
Because planning a great trip isn’t just about finding a place to stay.
It’s about creating an experience that fits your people, your priorities, and your vision for the trip.
That’s the part we love most. ✈️
What’s the most overwhelming part of planning a vacation for you?
Most people see the destination photos.
The resort tours.
The ocean views.
The pretty hotel rooms.
What they don’t see are the hours spent sitting around tables like this one.
Talking through client experiences.
Sharing what’s working (and what’s not).
Learning from each other’s successes and mistakes.
Building better systems.
Comparing notes on resorts, destinations, suppliers, and travel trends.
As travel advisors, continuing education isn’t optional. The industry changes constantly, and the more we learn, the better we can guide our clients.
One of my favorite parts of our Bright Life Travel retreat wasn’t actually the resort.
It was watching our team collaborate, challenge ideas, share knowledge, and leave with pages of notes on how we can serve our clients even better.
Because the best travel experiences don’t happen by accident.
They’re built on expertise, experience, and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work that most people never see.
And honestly? That’s exactly how we like it. ❤️
What you see is the vacation.
What we’re focused on is everything that makes it unforgettable.
